James R. Torpey, Sr. of Sewell, NJ passed away on June 10, 2019 at the age of 93. Beloved husband of the late Rose (née Montemurro). Devoted father of James (Nancy) Torpey, Jr. and Daniel (Maria) Torpey. Dear brother of David (Bonnie) Torpey and the late Thomas, Mary, Elizabeth and William. Cherished grandfather of Catherine (John), Carol (Sanel), Colleen (Ken), Sarah and Lisa (Adam), great grandfather of Dmitri, Elijah and Olivia .

James was a proud veteran of the US Army serving in WWII. He worked as a union electrician for IBEW local 592.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Saturday morning from 9:30AM to 11:00AM at Our Lady Of Guadalupe Parish/St Luke Campus, 55 Warwick Rd., Stratford, NJ 08084. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM. Entombment New St. Mary's Cemetery, Bellmawr, NJ. In lieu of flowers contributions to the Catholic Relief Services P.O.
