There simply are not enough words to adequately describe Deborah. She lived a full life in service to everyone she touched. She had an extra sense that whispered to her when she was needed by others and she acted to resolve their need. She lived on her own terms and never strayed from her path. She was the best friend you could ever hope to have. As a mother, my son explained to me that she could go from mom, to prison guard, to problem solver in the course of a 3 minute telephone call. As an aunt, she was simply adored. As playmate or counselor, she was just top of the line. She fell in love with being a grandmother on the very first day and that was her best job ever until, of course, she became a great-grandmother! Deb was all about family. But, her family was not limited by your last name, but rather by your need. If you needed a sister, you had the best. If you needed a mother, she was right there to provide the love that you were missing. Knowing Deb was loving Deb. Her passing will create a lot of sadness and those that it hurts the most will also be sad for all of those who did not get the chance to know her. Deb lived her life to the very end and it was not more evident than her final day when she spent 30 minutes making everyone lucky enough to be in the room laugh and show us one last time that there are no rules. Listen to your heart, spread joy wherever you go and when your time has come have the hospice nurse trying to get you to quiet down.
