Garrett, I will always remember you full of life and energy, a leader among our pack of neighborhood children as we ran through the woods and played in the streets. If only camera phones and Facebook were a "thing" back then - I could share such memories with everyone here! I'm thankful, however, to have those memories safely tucked away in my heart. Although I only saw you intermittently as we grew into adulthood, you never lost that twinkle in your eye. It is so hard to believe that you are gone. Rest well and know that you are loved and missed.

Garret , I had fun times with you. A number of good times were years ago. There was game five of the 1982 NBA finals that we both attended with your brother Brendan. A night at the Atlantic City Racetrack in July, 1982 with our Cousin Brian McHugh. The next day we all attended the Fourth of July Beach Boys Concert at Atlantic City , outdoors near the Casinos. It was fantastic. We would meet up at weddings, the McHugh family reunion in June, 1988 in Washington, DC , more weddings and other family events. You were always a calming influence and well spoken. I was glad you attended my wedding in June, 1996. I observed a loving brother and son to his family. You are already missed. The Bartley family holds a special place in my heart. Till we meet again, I will pray for you, your Dad, Matthew and Brigid.

It is always tough to lose an immediate family member especially when they are so young. I have fond memories of all the times we shared together. You were always in a great frame of mind and fun to be around. The most special memory is when you took Moira and I on the tour and showed us all the sites in Philadelphia we will all miss you dearly but will meet again someday

Dear Uncle Garret,
We miss you so much! I am feeling honored to have known such a great dude. I met you for the first time on my wedding day. You've been so much joy and fun from day one. Ashley and Patrick are so lucky to have such a fun Great Uncle in their life. I am sure Ashley will always remember her partner in crime her Uncle Garret. I will definitively cherish all the memories, great times and tons of fun that we had together. You and Ashley walking with the sticks at Blueberry hill, you dancing at the wedding reception, you and Zach playing Axis and Allies till 3a.m., you barbecuing on Zach's Birthdays, all our numerous field trips, and us watching The Ashley Show.
We love you and miss you. We will see each other again one day.
Love you, dude.
