Harry P. O’Neill made his last sarcastic remark on 14 Jan 2020. He was born in Scranton, P.A. to the late Aloysius and Harriet (née Lathrop) and moved to West Philadelphia when he was 11 years old. He is survived by one of four sisters, Frances Hickey. The other three sisters Delores (Dodie) Weil, Margaret Alden, Mary Flemming, and his only brother Aloysius, are all deceased. At St. Joseph’s University, he met and married his best friend of 62 years, Elizabeth (née Keenan). He has two wonderful children, Christopher (Marie) and Mary Beth Sherwood (John Jr.), three grandchildren, John Sherwood III (Allison), Erin Sherwood and Shelby O’Neill, and two great-grandchildren Austin and Charlee all of whom made him very proud. Harry loved his family, vodka, dogs, traveling, and vodka. Graduated from West Catholic in Philadelphia and then he proudly served as the patriarch to his family, as an MP during the Korean War, stationed in Berlin, Germany, and a master feeder to all dogs. With the help from his big sister Dodie O’Neill (Big Band Singer in 40’s & 50’s) Harry reached stardom as a vocalist with the Berlin USO orchestra and made several records with them that were played over the Armed Forces Network. Once back in the States, he donated time to St. Andrew’s Catholic Church as a cantor and was a member of the choir. Harry loved every person he met, and everybody loved Harry. He was employed in the insurance industry since 1947 and opened his own agency (Harry P. O’Neill Inc) and also worked part-time as board secretary for Gibbsboro Board of Education.
