I'm deeply saddened to have learned of Nelson's passing. He along with (Uncle) Nelson, Sr. were the favs of the Pullaro family. Although years have passed, I still have many memories of good times and laughs with Nelson and Debbie. May you find peace and comfort in the memories and love from everyone he graciously touched. My deepest sympathies to Debbie and the whole family. Diane Shampine

My dad Nellie was always there to help you with whatever you needed, a coupon, pair of shoes, tools etc. It may of taken a while for him to find what you needed because he loved to collect stuff (lol). But he would always have whatever you needed and would be happy to help. Over the years he helped many friends and family, sometimes too generous. Any gifts I would give him he would always make me feel like that was the bestest present he ever got and always had to show me how much he loved the gifts I got him over the years. He cherished his family and loved ones. He especially loved to see his grandkids. Although they would test his nerves, they were his world. He loved going to his Pocono timeshare. He would always ask us thought out the year to make sure to get off work so we could all be together. We laughed as he unpacked all his hats on the fireplace and would play the guitar and sing for us. Thank you for all the laughs. Thank you for loving me and our family unconditionally and for never judging.. Your house will never be the same, visiting you and hearing your footsteps to the kitchen after a Walmart run throughout the night:). You loved your snacks...hehe. You are greatly missed. Still trying to process how to live without you. I hope you know how much we all loved and appreciated you. Eric says “Go Pats”. Haha
Love Always,
Your daughter...Jennifer and (son n law). Eric Bernardini

I have great memories of Nelson as my catcher on the Eastern HS and Garden State baseball teams. His abilities not only made me a better pitcher but were a major factor in those teams achieving their ultimate level of success. I also have great memories of the laughs we shared with the "garage girls" until wee hours following those games! I truly regret losing contact as our lives took different paths after HS. But the great memories will stay with me forever! Rest In Peace buddy! Thoughts and prayers to family and friends!

Debbie please know that you and your family are in my thoughts. I can only imagine how awesome of a guy your husband was. When I see his picture you two both go together like peas in a pod:) keep those positive and funny memories in the forefront of ur mind as I know its hard to do in such a sad and sudden incident. However those memories will continue to remind you to stay happy. I'm sure he wouldn't wNt to see you upset. :) much love

(Dad) even though I was not your biological daughter you never made me feel like just a stepdaughter you always introduced me as yours for the last 20yrs you truly were the best father, like when I came in after being at the dentist numb and tried to drink and it ran down my chin and you gave me a straw and that didn’t work either grabbed a paper towel and wiped my entire face lol then said cmon let’s go watch a movie I just made up my bed lol boy how you loved that bed whether it was watching tv or playing your guitar singing loudly. You always knew how to make us laugh when we needed it walking around in underwear T-shirt and one sock on being silly making stupid jokes just being a goofball. You are an amazing poppy always thinking of them giving them silly toys “I thought “ but they always loved. Trying to teach Jennica how to play the guitar and strings would always break but you always fixed for her. I have so many great memories of you I love you and miss you so much we all do!! RIP until we’re together again xoxo

Nellie was like family to me. Being that he was best friends with my brother & I was best friends with his sister Kathy. He was funny, warm & generous. He loved giving me advice about boys. I sure could’ve used that advice as an adult out here in Los Angeles. When I think about it he was a lot like Nelson Sr. At the gas station making jokes & at home very sweet treating me like a daughter since my father had left a few years earlier. Like father like son Nelson Jr. Nellie got his license first & we loved driving around singing loudly to “Bennie & the Jets” as well as McCartney & Wings “Band on the Run”. We would sneak off in his car to Dancateria to go dancing. I remember hanging with the “Garage girls” & Nellie & the boys would try to hide & listen to our many talks in there. Those moments with Nelson will never be forgotten. And there are so many more. I only wish we didn’t go our separate ways so we could cherish more of those moments which won’t ever be forgotten. But, I guess we were like the Band on the Run moving quickly onto other lives. Hopefully, one day we will run together on the
(McCartney) & WINGS into the heavens. Nellie will be sorely missed by me & many more.
Run to those WINGS my Berlin Buddy.

I loved Nellie Pullaro. Loved his light , laughter and loyalty as a friend . Most of my very best times in high school were spent with him . I can’t hear an Elton John song without thinking about how we cruised in his car listening to the 8 track tape of Yellow Brick Road over and over again . Energized by youth and perhaps by a few beers we sang at the top of our lungs to Bennie and the Jets and Saturday Nights Alright for Fighting . So today , in his honor , I drive down pacific coach highway in California and listened to The entirety of Yellow Brick Road with tears in my eyes when the first track was Funeral For a Friend followed by Candle in the Wind , but then joy in my heart when I heard some of his more raucous favorite tracks on the album . And with deep regret that we never managed to stay in touch after high school and that now it’s too late to do so .Hope I get to meet you again someday on the Yellow Brick Road , Nellie . Condolences to his mom Doris and his sister Kathy whom I also shared many fond moments with .

He lived Life. Loved his women, especially his Mom, loved his sports, loved his friends, loved his music. He played hard. He had his highs and lows but some really good times. What a Long Strange trip it's been. Hoping he rests in peace now.
To his Family make the most of every day like he did.

Uncle Nelly I will always remember the summer nights sitting on Grandmas porch Jamming and laughing together. You mean the world to me and the rest of our family. My daughter Raven adored you. You were there for me whenever I needed to talk. Through the good times and bad. You literally could make me laugh in any situation. It hurts to not get more time with you but I know you will be watching over us. I'm literally crushed along with alot of other people. You are the best and always will be. Love you bud and will always miss you. Nephew Joey
