Obituary of Blanche Bartoseck
Blanche Bartoseck (née Makowski), 100, of Voorhees died peacefully on Tuesday, June 16, 2020. Blanche was 3 weeks shy of her 101st birthday. Born in Camden NJ, where Blanche lived and raised her family. She especially loved that she could walk to church, school, the bakery and shops. Walter and Blanche eventually moved to Voorhees to be closer to her daughter and her family.
Blanche is predeceased by her husband Walter E. Bartoseck, and son Edward Bartoseck. She is survived by her daughter and son in law Sandra and James Talley of Voorhees, her grandchildren Stephanie Talley of Ft. Myers, Fla., Julie Catania (Tino) of Hammonton NJ, James Talley (Amanda) of Washington Twp. NJ; and 4 great grandchildren who she adored Massimo & Giovanni Catania and Samantha & Grant Talley.
Blanche was an amazingly strong, determined and self-sufficient woman. Even though, Blanche only went to school to 3rd grade, at the age of 83, Blanche was determined and enrolled in driver's ed. Not surprising, she passed her driver's test and earned her license. Blanche wanted to continue to be independent and be able to go grocery shopping, attend church and go to her weekly hairdresser appointments when Walter could no longer drive.
Blanche never looked or acted her age. She was commonly mistaken for being 30 years younger than she was. It was not uncommon to see Blanche or "MomMom" swinging on a swing at a backyard party, sitting on the floor playing with her great grand children or even jumping on a miniature trampoline one Christmas at the age of 99. She was always young at heart and physically fit.
Blanche was petite in stature, and always meticulously dressed. She was always put together from head to toe whether she was going to a doctor's appointment, shopping at the mall or going out to dinner with family. She most enjoyed going to the Borgata with Sandra. Somehow, she always managed to come home with leftovers after eating at the buffet!
Blanche was never afraid of a challenge, loved living alone, enjoyed managing her home and garden, was very proud of her independence and loved her family. She is the epitome of hardworking and has raised the bar for us all!
MomMom will be greatly missed.
