Obituary of Margaret E Contino

Margaret E. Contino (née Adams) passed away on July 15, 2020 at the Samaritan Center at Voorhees NJ at the age of 87.  She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joseph L. of Atco, NJ and her sister Ruth Lowe of Voorhees; her daughter Patricia Denholm (Thomas) of Summerville, SC and daughter Darlene Kopania (James) of Atco, NJ;  her grandchildren Ian Denholm (Samantha) of Fallston, Md., Evan Denholm (Charee) of Yokosuka, Japan, Aaron Kopania and Rachel Kopania of Atco, NJ and one great-grandchild, Casey of Yokosuka, Japan.  She is also survived by her life-long friend Joan Borek of Berlin, NJ.

 

Margaret was born in West Berlin, NJ to her parents Margaret and James Adams.  She worked for many years for the Lower Camden County Regional High School District as an administrative assistant and bookkeeper.  While a resident of West Berlin, Margaret served on the West Berlin Board of Education and was an active member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the West Berlin volunteer fire department.  Since her retirement, Margaret enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and attending weekly luncheons with her friends.  Most recently, she served as the treasurer of the Residents Association for Allegria at the Fountains where she and her husband resided for the past 5 years.  Margaret was also an avid seamstress and quilter, leaving her family many keepsake reminders of her talents and love for them.

 

Cremation and interment will be held privately with a memorial service at a later date when friends and family are able to safely gather together to celebrate Margaret’s life.
