Obituary of John C. Baylis, MD

John Carl Baylis went to be with his Heavenly Father on August 13, 2021 while surrounded by his loving family. Born December 17, 1942 in Newark, Delaware; he was the youngest child and only son of the late John C. Baylis and Marguerite (Reed) Baylis. Predeceased by his wife, Florence (Chester) Baylis and his two sisters, Ruth Amoroso and Marian Stancill. He is survived by his daughters, Judith Craig (Wes) and Patricia Baylis (Brian Price) as well his three grandchildren:  Alexis, Cameron, and Maisie.

Jack grew up in Newark, DE on Chapel St where he graduated from Newark High School. He completed his undergraduate studies at The University of Delaware and then went on to earn his Medical Degree at Jefferson University School of Medicine. He was proud of his Alma Maters and forged lifelong friendships at each school. Jack was active in the church at a very young age.  Through most of his adult life he played the organ and participated in music ministries in various churches.  He served on several church boards through the years and was always giving his time and talent to help spread the Word. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather, caring brother, sweet uncle, and loyal friend. He was loved by so many.

Jack answered to many names:  John, Jackie, Jack, Dad, and Dr. B; but his favorite name to answer to was Pop-Pop. He was a light in everyones’ lives and will be greatly missed.

Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing Wednesday August 18, 2021 9:00-10:00AM at SOLID ROCK BAPTIST CHURCH 420 S. WHITE HORSE PIKE BERLIN, NJ 08009.  Funeral service 10:00AM.  Entombment in Lakeview Memorial Park Cinnaminson, NJ.  In lieu of flowers contributions to GIFT OF LIFE 401 N. 3^rd St. Philadelphia, PA 19123 are appreciated.
