I am very thankful for "Uncle Jim's" impact on me. My memories of him are mostly from the time when I was in AWANA at Fellowship Baptist Church when Uncle Jim's pleasant demeanor and happy hugs were an encouragement to all. He was so full of life, loved to spend time with all the children, and loved to tell others about Jesus.
I know that he will be missed, but I also know he is happy to be with his Savior.

It is sad to hear of the passing of my grandmother's, Cora (Cokie) Kline, last surviving sibling. I have never met nor heard of a Schoonover that was disliked or unkind. The whole family is held in highest regard. My sincerest condolences to all who were touched by this lovely man.

Only personally knowing Mr. Schoonover for just a few months has left a life long imprint on my life. What started out just being a care giver turned out to be a friendship of a life time. Your dad was such a kind and patient person with me. Learning to do "EXACTLY as he wished" to help him through his last few months brought us closer. Taking care of him made it feel as if I had a second chance to have a father again. I could see the impact he had on those at the Fountains. Residents and workers knew who Jim was and the Good News he wanted everyone to hear. Even a stent at the hospital brought the Salvation message to nurses and staff. It was hard to see his steady decline. Painful for him and heart breaking for me. Knowing our friendship would have a brief hold until we met again in heaven. Holly, Mark and Scott you have an amazing father. He often spoke of his grandchildren and his great grandchildren. He was a blessing to all. Though missed by all close to him. It brings comfort knowing he is in the arms of the Savior and Great Physician.
