Eleanor Helen Beland-Cassidy

Eleanor Helen Beland-Cassidy, age 93, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Toms River, NJ, passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Holy Spirit Hospital.  Born June 16, 1928, in Jersey City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Stanley and Mary (Pilsner) Schultz.

Eleanor worked as a crossing guard in Gibbsboro, NJ. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg, and the Church of St. Andrew the Apostle, Gibbsboro, NJ.

Eleanor was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph A.F. Beland; second husband, Donald Cassidy; son Thomas Beland and her five siblings, Sophie Sommers, Jean Sulkowski, Blanche Borowski, Mary Douglas and Edward Schultz. She is survived by her two sons, Richard Beland and wife Claudia of Minnesott, NC and Michael Beland of Mechanicsburg; daughter-in-law, Kathy Beland of Clarendon, VT; five grandchildren, Amanda DeAngelo, Jon Beland, Brook Klovo ,Erin Perry, and Joseph Beland and her four great-grandchildren, Greyson, Mateo, Hannah,  and Gabriel.

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11:00 AM Monday, September 6, 2021 at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Mechanicsburg. Viewing will  be held from 9:30 AM until 10:30 AM Monday, September 6, 2021 at Malpezzi Funeral Home, 8 Market Plaza Way, Mechanicsburg. Burial will take place 11:00 AM Wednesday, September 8, 2021 in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Blackwood, NJ.
