Obituary of Hollie Ann Shelanskey

Hollie Ann Shelanskey, 73 years, of Somerdale NJ, passed away on Saturday, October 23, 2021. Beloved wife of the late Daniel William Shelanskey, the love of her life. Loving mother of Tracy Shelanskey (Barbara), Karen Delabo (Dan), Daniel Shelanskey (Amanda). Dear sister of George Edward Taquino, III “Butch”, Carl Frank Taquino and Victoria Rhodes. Cherished grandmother of Taylor, Danny, Abby, Branden, Cody and Chase. Loved her fur babies, Cajun, Piggly, Wiggly, and Annie.

Hollie loved the Phillies, Flyers, Saints and Eagles. She was fiercely independent and enjoyed keeping her apartment and decorating for all the holidays. She had lived in many places including multiple homes in Mississippi, New Jersey, Virginia, New York, and Nebraska. Hollie has worked a variety of jobs during her life. She was proudest of being Head of Food Services at a Nursing Home in David City, Nebraska. She loved cooking for family and made a great tuna fish grinder! She loved holidays with family and was a huge Volkswagen fan. Hollie worked with her husband Dan to restore multiple Beetles and Mini-buses, culminating in “Mildred” a mini-bus converted into a camper with a Volkswagen beetle welded to the top. She had many friends, was very social, and was proud of her southern heritage. She loved telling many great stories of growing up in the Bayou.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her visitation on Thursday morning from 10:00AM to 11:00 AM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE BERLIN NJ 08009. Memorial service 11:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the Homeward Bound Pet Adoption Center at 125 County House Rd, Blackwood, NJ 08012 would be appreciated.
