Eulogy of Rosanna Minerva

Hello, thank you all for coming this evening. I am Valentina; I am one of
her eleven grandchildren. Her passing feels unreal to me. I still can not wrap my
head around it.

Not only was she my grandmother, but she was also my friend. No matter
what mood I was in, she would always brighten up my day. She had the
ability to light up any room with her sassy attitude.. smart remarks.. & comic
relief.

Her grandfather used to always call her cookie. I couldn’t think of any
other name that perfectly suited her. She had a tough exterior and soft interior.
She truly was a tough cookie, she raised five children on her own. She was
an inspiration from all the obstacles she overcame.. Her health & mental journey
alone are an incredible example of her strength.

Her family was her rock, each of her children showing their support in their
own special way. I can not stand up here today and not mention my father and
my aunt Darlene for all of their love especially during her last couple of years.
I was grateful to be one of her caregivers and I will always cherish the time we
spent together. From all the lifetime movies we watch… to all the cookies we
ate. All the shopping.. and trash talking we did.  Although it was difficult for all
of us to see her during these challenging times, the fire in her soul was still there.
My grandmother was an outstanding woman.  She meant something
different for each of you sitting here tonight; a sister, a mother, a cousin, a friend.
I know she loved each of you very much.  And while her passing is extremely
sad… I know for me I will always be inspired by her strength and I hope you will
be too.

Thank you for letting me share how her life impacted me and she will be
greatly missed. ~Darlene Maillet
