Obituary of Joseph W. Yaniak, Sr.
Joseph W. Yaniak, Sr., of Berlin NJ, passed away peacefully on January 16, 2022. He was born March 15, 1933 to Katherine (née Magda) and Boleslaw Yaniak. He is survived by the love of his life and wife of 70 years Doris (née Faust); his children Joseph Yaniak, Jr. (Mary Jeanne née Smyth), Michelle Yaniak-Carroll (Thomas) as well as four grandchildren Danielle Carroll, Deanna Carroll Ferroni (the late Matthew), Janine Yaniak, Ryan Yaniak (Miranda née Massara) and four great grandchildren Layla, Finn, Cora Ferroni and Nola Yaniak. He is predeceased by his daughter, Colleen Yaniak, but survived by her longtime partner and dear friend of the family, Richard Kendall.
Joe graduated from Merchantville High School in 1950. He served honorably in the US Army and 11th Airborne Paratroopers. He worked for NJ Bell, AT&T, Lucent and Kennedy Hospital. Joe also served as a volunteer with Ashland Fire Co #2 and was a devout Catholic at Holy Rosary and St. Simon Stock Parish.
His commitment to family and loved ones was unwavering. He was the foundation from which our family grew. Joe was incredibly handy and used his talents to help others, earning him the nickname “Mr. Fix-it". He will be fondly remembered for fun times at the family summer home which included barbecues, family reunions, boating, fishing, crabbing & clamming. His home was always the spot for parties and holiday gatherings. He was dearly loved and will be sorely missed by everyone lucky enough to have had him in their lives.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Thursday morning from 9:00AM to 10:30AM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE BERLIN NJ 08009. Mass of Christian Burial 11:00AM at St. Simon Stock Parish Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, 178 W. White Horse Pike, Berlin NJ.
