Obituary of Roseanne V. Marcus

Marcus, Roseanne V. (Janik) (née Rebardo), 88 years, of Atco, passed away on January 20, 2022. Devoted mother of Kathie Seymour (Don), Diane Walker, Linda Williams, Roseanne Werner (Joe), and the late Frank Janik.  Beloved grandmother of Randall von der Tann (Rachel), Chad von der Tann (Kathy), Ashley Seymour, Brett Burton, MacKenzie Walker, Zachary Walker, Kevin Williams, David Kinder (Taren), Chase Kinder (Katie), Maria Hamilton, Lauren Saliba, and Alicia Saliba. Great Grandmother of Connor von der Tann, Brooke von der Tann, Olivia von der Tann, Aryana Rebecca, Asher Kinder, Chase Kinder, Cash Kinder, Avery Peterson, Ethan Mathes, Alyssa Hogan and Gia Hogan Pinkerton (Brandon). Predeceased by sister Angela Gibison and brother Nicholas Pomo. She is also survived by many loving friends, neighbors, and special friends Jeanne Hummel and Diane Hogan Akras. 

Roseanne was a loving mother, homemaker, and licensed real estate agent retired from Fox and Lazo Agency in Medford. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing Tuesday afternoon 1:00PM to 2:00PM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME 231 W. Roseanne “Ronnie” Marcus

10/28/1933 – 01/20/2022

My Mother was born at Cooper Hospital in Camden on October 28, 1933. You would think that she lived a long life at 88 years old but we were not ready to let her go.

Over the last year she liked to talk about her life on the farm in Tansboro with her fraternal grandmother, Rosalie Rebardo. She loved and was very close to her grandmother and I believe those must’ve been happy years for her since she talked about it frequently. They didn’t have indoor plumbing and she hated wearing the same pants every day but there were good memories of her and her sister, Aunt Angie, and how they would steal a watermelon from the field and go under the porch to eat it. Mom said they were never ripe. Repeatedly my mother talked about playing in this old car. Back in those days the seats were all one piece and the only thing in the car was the back seat. She pretended it was the couch and she got a box for a coffee table. She said she even made curtains for the windows and put strawberries in a dish on the coffee table. I believe her decorating days kicked in way back then. My mother always talked about how she was told that her grandmother, Rosalie, cried every day when she left the farm.  I imagined when she passed that her grandmother, Rosalie, her sister, Aunt Angie, and her son, Frank were all there waiting for her. How fitting that she will be buried between her son, Frank, and her grandmother, Rosalie Rebardo.

The last time she went out leisurely, before she was tethered to an oxygen tank, was October of 2020. I drove her around to look at the fall leaves and we drove past the farm. The house was gone but we were glad the property was not being developed and instead it was a Christmas Tree Farm. We had a really nice day, she got out of the house, reminisced, and enjoyed the beautiful fall colors. It was a special day for us.

My mother was an amazing person, she was pretty, artistic, smart, strong, socially outgoing (she loved to have fun), she was the best pizzelle maker, and Kevin says she made the best meatballs! Really,

there wasn’t anything she couldn’t make. An excellent seamstress that made our clothes, curtains, dust ruffles, gowns, Diane’s wedding dress, and beautifully decorated basinets for the family babies.

Thank you for coming today to support our family and to honor my mother. Please join us after the burial at Filomenas restaurant. It’s what my mother requested and knowing how social my mother was I’m sure she wishes she could be there to see and spend time with every one of you.

Thank you, Mom, for a lifetime of love and memories. God keep you and watch over you as you live in his Kingdom. We will miss you all the days of our lives and carry you in our hearts. Please God give our family comfort and peace especially knowing that she is no longer suffering. After Deacon O’Connor says the final blessing we will play a song by Jim Brickman called “A Mother’s Love”. In the song he sings that “there’s no power like it on this earth, no treasure equal to its worth, the gift of a mother’s love”.
