Obituary of Mary Catherine Caruso

Mary Caruso 82, of Voorhees NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by family and friends on Thursday, February 3, 2022 at the Virtua Hospital in Voorhees, NJ.  Born in Philadelphia and raised in Camden, New Jersey, she resided in Voorhees most of her life. 

Wife of the late Anthony Caruso, she is survived by her children, Robert Caruso (Helene), Michelle Klacik (John), and Cherie Fanelle (Daniel).  She is also survived by her precious grandchildren, Celeste Caruso, Sheridan Fanelle, Dominique Fanelle , Anthony Fanelle, Nina Kelly, John Caruso and Thomas Caruso, along with numerous great grandchildren.  She is also survived by her sisters, Barbara Lovett, Anna Butz, Edward Costigan, Jr. (Joann), Theresa Costigan and Denise Reilly (Sean), many nieces and nephews, as well as her special angels on Earth, Venita (Anita) Puskar and Cathy Ervin.  She is predeceased by her loving parents, Edward Costigan and Madeline Costigan, her son, Steven Caruso (Maria), her brother, Larry Costigan and her sisters, Kathleen Clifford, Joan Monzo, Lynne Costigan-Shamlian and Miriam Costigan.

Mary was a telephone operator at Bell Telephone/Verizon and upon retirement, spent her time with her grandchildren, family and friends.  While not one to have hobbies, other than shopping which was her favorite thing ever, she was a wonderful friend and confidant to many, and a substitute grandmother to those in need.  She was very independent and loved to travel with her girlfriends. 

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her viewing on Tuesday evening from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE BERLIN NJ 08009. Funeral Service 8:00PM. Interment will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Samaritan Hospice at PO Box 71425, Philadelphia PA 19146 would be appreciated.
