Obituary of Remus M. Berretta
Remolo “Remus” Michael Berretta, 88, of Marlton NJ, passed away on February 3, 2022.
Remus was born in Yonkers, NY to Augusto and Natalina (née DePietro) Berretta on November 2, 1933. He went to Northeast High School in Philadelphia and soon after, entered the United States Army with his twin brother Romulus. He spent 36 years as a medical researcher for Temple University Department of Pharmacology until his retirement. Following his retirement, Remus and his wife Joan moved into the Legacy Oaks Community. He enjoyed his time there, where he participated in many clubs and groups and developed lasting friendships. Remus loved to socialize with family and friends, and especially cherished the time spent with his children and grandchildren.
Remus is survived by his wife Kathryn “Joan” (née McGonagle)of Marlton, sons Remus Jr (Heather), Vincent (Michele) and Noel; grandchildren Roman, Dominic, Vincent, Anthony, Luciana, Marc, Luke and Drew; siblings Romulus (Catherine) Berretta, Joseph Berretta, sisters-in-law Rita Berretta and Margaret “Mickie” Zeoli, as well as many loved nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Augusto and Natalina Berretta as well as his siblings Adolfo (Katharina) Berretta, Angelo Berretta and Eileen (Eugene) Strogryn, and brother-in-law William Zeoli.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Friday February 11, 2022 from 10:00AM to 11:00AM at St. Joan of Arc Church, 100 Willow Bend Rd., Marlton NJ 08053. Memorial Mass 11:00AM. Interment will take place privately. In lieu of flowers, contributions to the American Heart Association at 1 Union St. Suite 301, Robbinsville NJ 08691 would be appreciated.
