Obituary of Carl Canfield, Sr.

Carl Canfield, Sr., 74 years, of Berlin NJ, passed away peacefully on June 7, 2022. Beloved husband of the late Geraldine “Gerry” Canfield. Loving father of Carl W. Canfield, Jr. (Rachael). Cherished grandfather of Emilia Canfield. Brother of Paul Canfield and Dennis Canfield. Also survived by his yellow lab Duke.

Carl was born in Camden NJ to William and Roma Canfield. He resided in Berlin all his life. He was a 1966 graduate of Edgewood High School and joined the Army in 1968, serving proudly until 1974. Throughout his life he has held many jobs in the trucking industry and drove for many companies over the years. Carl had many passions including his family and friends. He was very social and would make friends wherever he would go. Growing up in Berlin he has stayed connected to many of the friends he has made since he was younger.

Carl was active within the community with school board, little league and even politics. He was a father for most but also a great friend to anyone who needed it. He loved his cars and car shows especially his cherished 1955 Chevrolet. He enjoyed fishing and hanging with friends every chance he could get talking and laughing telling stories. His wisdom he would impart to anyone he would meet. He will be missed by many.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend his viewing on Friday June 17, 2022 from 1:00PM to 3:00PM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE, BERLIN NJ 08009. Funeral service 3:00PM. Interment will take place privately. The family is requesting anyone with an antique car to please bring it to the service in honor of Carl.
