Obituary of Sandra Sue Kahn

Sandra “Sandie” Kahn (née Schroeder) passed peacefully with her family by her side on August 22, 2022 after an arduous battle with Parkinson’s Disease.

 

Born on June 20, 1950 to her loving parents, the late Norine and Bertram Schroeder, Sandie was raised in Cherry Hill, NJ with her beloved brothers Craig (Ruby), Glenn and the late Doug, and her sister and very best friend Cory Sage (Ron).

 

Sandie attended Cherry Hill West High School and was active in the drama club. It was in her senior year that she met her husband of 53 years, Gary, with whom she raised three adoring children, Gary II (Rachel), Greg and Cory Fedore (Bob). Sandie was a devoted mother and her children were the center of her universe. Her love and enthusiasm knew no bounds.

 

Sandie’s passion for music and dancing translated into 34 years as a Jazzercise instructor. After the family settled in Voorhees, NJ in 1985, she met through her classes many wonderful friends who enjoyed countless lunches and girls’ trips together. She and Gary also shared many memorable times with dear friends Roz and Morris Bratt.

 

In 2000, Sandie became a grandmother, affectionately known as “Sammie,” to the lights of her life Olivia, Stella, Ava, Ashton, Grayson, Charlie and Wyatt. Countless days were spent feeding the geese at Paint Works, eating ice cream, making beautiful crafts and walking the boards in Ocean City. Sandie was a fixture at plays, concerts and sporting events – always with her bright smile and encouraging words.

 

Even while her health began to deteriorate, Sandie maintained her characteristically positive outlook on life and never missed an opportunity to be with her family. Her final months were spent at her daughter Cory’s home surrounded by laughter and love. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
