Obituary of Paul Wayne Controvich

Paul Wayne Controvich, 78 years, of Berlin NJ, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2022. Son of the late Anthony and Ruth (née Krantz) Controvich. Beloved husband of Rita Controvich (née Foody). Loving father of Lisa, Michele (Greg) and the late Lynda. Dear brother of the late William Controvich. Cherished grandfather of Luke, Lilli and Alana. Also survived by many in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends.

Paul spent his life working in telecommunications at Bell Atlantic and Telcordia. His work enabled him to travel the world. He was amazing with a computer and no one knew their way around one better than him.

He adored spending time with his grandchildren and family. He also enjoyed his many visits to Hawaii to spend time with his nephew and many other vacations with his family. Paul loved to dance with Rita and entertain in his backyard and pool. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden and especially loved his Ramapo tomatoes. He loved to build model airplanes, play pinochle and rebuild his classic 1966 Pontiac GTO. Paul was a true handyman. He could build, fix or install anything.

He was a lover of good food and fine wine. The last few years he really enjoyed being in Ft. Myers and going to the clubhouse with his many friends there. He will be remembered as a generous and kind man who was always there to help family and friends when they needed it.

After a courageous battle with cancer, we are comforted by knowing he is reunited with his daughter Lynda.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation on Tuesday November 15, 2022 from 11:00AM to 12:00PM at the COSTANTINO-PRIMO FUNERAL HOME, 231 W. WHITE HORSE PIKE, BERLIN NJ 08009. Memorial service 12:00PM at the funeral home. Interment of ashes to follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Berlin NJ.
