This news is a sad surprise after having spoken with a hale and hearty Vince on the phone in November. That was the last of many lively and thoughtful conversations over the last six or seven years on finding a good home in New Jersey for his unique archive of RCA and Victor Talking Machine documents, which started because Vince was pleased to find a historian who was familiar with Eldridge Johnson's executive staff at Victor. Although historic preservation was our focus, I appreciated his interest in my son's budding track career in high school and stories of long jumping and playing baseball at that age, a loong time ago. My condolences to his wife, children, and the rest of the Valente family: Vince lived life well.

Vince, I am so grateful to have had you as a dear friend. We had a lot in common, including the start of our careers in the US Army, followed by 35-year careers at RCA Camden. I will miss our weekly phone conversations, as well as our get togethers to share memories of our RCA days and our mutual knowledge and love of our company's rich history. You touched my life in more ways than you could ever imagine. Rest in peace, Buddy. Until we meet again to resume our special friendship. My sincere condolences to Jean, Kim, Vince Jr., and your entire family.

Our deepest sympathies. I enjoyed going fishing with my Father Jim McHugh and Vince when I was younger. Years later I worked at RCA for many years with Vince, Dad and Family.. I always enjoyed talking to Vince about the RCA days and talking about memorabilia. Vince was one of the “RCA Family”. Our thoughts and prayers are with the Family during this difficult time. God bless. Ron and Deb McHugh

Uncle Vince,
You lived a long and wonderful life. Always a good baby brother to our Mother Madeline and a fun and kind uncle to us all. I remember your house and yard held so many unique memories...like the plane that landed in the neighbors yard in Somerdale!
You seemed to be growing something all the time, and enjoyed nature and wildlife. Rest peacefully now.

Dear Uncle Vincent:
I have so many great memories of the house in Summerdale. All the swimming and games. The most wonderful Christmas eve parties and just all off the wonderful family parties. These memories will stay with me forever. Love to you Aunt Jean and Kim and Vincent.
