Obituary of Clementine Robinson

Please share a memory of Clementine to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Clementine (Tina) Robinson, of W. Berlin NJ, passed away on January 11, 2023, at the age of 92. She was born in Henry County, Alabama, and was the daughter of the late John & Ethel (Nee Culver) Wilcoxson. Clementine graduated from Lower Camden County Regional High School, class of 1947, where she demonstrated the gift of orthographies (art of  correct spelling). After graduation, Clementine took several secretarial courses, became a dental hygienist, and worked as a seamstress for both the Atco Knitting Mill and Stevens & Sons. After working as a Sunday school teacher at Green Grove Baptist Church in Berlin, NJ, she started studying the Bible with Jehovah’s Witnesses in Itazuke, Japan and continued to study with Brenda Sougue, of the Atco Congregation. She was baptized in 1975, alongside her late daughter, Patricia Smith.

Clementine was united in marriage to the late Lester C. Robinson on January 4, 1951. They met through Lester’s niece who was also Clementine’s best friend, Mary Robinson. Together, Clementine & Lester traveled abroad while serving in the US Military. From this union, three daughters were born: Sandra Eve, Patricia Jane, and Leslie Lee. Clementine enjoyed being a military spouse, gardening in her yard, crocheting and knitting, reading books, spending time with her grandchildren, and making everyone around her laugh. Clementine loved to make her delicious Pecan-Carmel Pound Cake and fried fruit pies for her family, and was always there to help them in any way she could.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Lester C. Robinson; her daughter, Patricia J. Smith; her brother, Israel Wilcoxson; brother, John E. Wilcoxson; brother, James-Earl Wilcoxson; brother, Billy Wilcoxson; and beloved sister, Janice L. Handy.
