Obituary of Robert Carmen Natalini

Robert C. Natalini, 94, of Voorhees NJ, formerly of Belle Vernon PA, passed away peacefully on April 22, 2023. He was the husband of Edith J. Natalini (née Conte), to whom he was married for 65 years. Born on August 14, 1928, in Monongahela, PA, he was the son of the late Carmine and Anna Natalini (née Fryte) and preceded in death by his sister Florence (Natalini) Skrypak.

Bob attended local elementary and secondary schools and earned bachelors and masters degrees from the University of Pittsburgh. After serving in the United States Army during the Korean War he enjoyed a diverse career as an industrial engineer, financial advisor, and for many years the executive director of Mon Valley Community Services, Inc., devoting his time and heart to the people of his community.

A music lover and talented baritone, Bob sang for many years in St. Sebastian parish’s church choir in Belle Vernon, PA, and led the Mon Valley chapter of the Pittsburgh Opera Society where, among other things, he introduced students in the area to the beauty of opera. He played bridge and many sports, especially enjoying hitting the links with his son and golfing buddies. He vocally supported the Steelers whether living in western Pennsylvania or southern New Jersey. Bob cherished time with his family, especially his grandchildren, to whom he was known as Bebop. He loved taking them on outings, leaving them with joyful memories for a lifetime.

In addition to Edie he is survived by son Robert S. Natalini of Voorhees, NJ; daughters Chris Ann Natalini of Glendale, AZ, Karen (Natalini) Carr of Chestertown, MD, and Amy (Natalini) Wendel of Washington, DC; grandsons Ethan Wendel of Boston, MA, Aidan Carr of Doylestown, PA, and Lucas Wendel of Washington, DC.; and sons- and daughter-in-law Steven Biggs of Glendale, AZ, Peter Wendel of Washington, DC; and Susan L. Natalini (nee Hanson) of Voorhees, NJ.

A memorial service will take place at Monongahela Cemetery, Monongahela PA, starting promptly at 10:30AM on  June 24, 2023, followed by interment of ashes. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob’s memory can be made to the Pittsburgh Opera at 2425 Liberty Ave., Pittsburgh PA 15222 or by clicking here, Pittsburgh Opera.
