Jerry lived in my neighborhood in the 90’s. He taught me and my husband to make Clams Casino. One year for Christmas he gave us an amazing cheesecake that he made. Very nice guy! Sorry to the family for your loss!

I did not know Jerry personally but I knew him from coming in Shamrock Deli for the best potato salad around. I grew up on Lecato Avenue, two blocks away, and always visited Longo's which turned into Shamrock on a daily basis. I moved further away and really didn't get in two Shamrocks that much but I did stop in at least once a month to grab my salad. Jerry always had a smile and everyone that work there was always very friendly and helpful. Such a tragic thing to happen to such a wonderful person. Thinking of your family and children at this time. May God give you peace and the ability to go on with your lives. God bless!!

My heart felt condolences go out to Ethel and all Jerry’s children, grand children and his brothers.
I grew up with Jerry and all the great comments people have written or talked about him are not exaggerated.
When growing up, non of us had any money, we had something better, our friendships. Our neighborhood was like one big family. Our days were spent playing pickup games of almost every sport or finding ways to earn some money to do something fun. During the winter we would go sledding and ice skating and then all going to Jerry’s house for a big bowl of pasta fazool, Jerry’s dad had simmering on the stove accompanied by a big bag of rolls from Nardi’s deli.
Jerry was not just a friend to myself and the other guys that grew up together, we were brothers. When one of got hurt, we all felt it.
We are all feeling it now!
We love you brother!
Rest in Pease!!

Ethel and family I am so sorry for your loss. Jerry was the best boss ever, from the time he hired me he always made it feel like home. I am so glad that I had the opportunity to meet him and the wonderful family he has. He was the most caring and giving person I know. He would always greet you in the AM by saying good morning. I felt like he always put us first before himself. One example of that was my grandsons had a Christmas concert and for some reason my son did not tell me until the week of. Schedule had already been posted and that was my day to work. I was so upset. I texted Jerry and with in seconds he responded back with don’t worry you go and enjoy yourself and I will cover you shift until you get here. What other boss does that?He had a heart of gold and that heart touched a lot of people. I know it touched me.Heaven has gained a truly great person.

The many, many hearts he touched in life are now broken. It's a testament to the kind, caring person that Jerry was. His smile will be forever etched in our memories. He lived life to the fullest and loved all the people on his journey. And for that we will be forever grateful. We love you Jerry. My heartfelt prayers and thoughts go out to Jerry's beautiful family.

Ethel, please excuse this impersonal form of condolence because I am in Florida for the winter. No words can ever do justice to the pain you and your family feel.Nor are there any words available to me to offer some iota of comfort to you all as you digest this horrendous loss of your beloved Jerry. I just pray that your family can give you some comfort to help you through these next months of grieving. No doubt you will never be free of the horror of his passing, but may your family and friends help to soften the blow to you as you live out the rest of your long life. I am shocked and saddened by your loss. My heartfelt condolences and prayers go out to you and your entire family. Harold kasselman

I had the wonderful pleasure of working with Jerry for close to 30 years. So many memories of laughter and giggling as we tried to get through endless, boring meetings. No matter what happened, no matter how much I teased him, he would laugh! He had the kindest heart and bold spirit.
So sad that he is gone. My prayers for Ethel and the kids. He loved you all so much.

Ethel- there are no words that can ever bring solace to you or your family. Just know that I, and my friends here in NC, are all sending you and yours prayers, hugs, and healing vibes. I wish life were like one of those cassette mixes we all used to make off the radio. If you caught a song you didn't like, you could record over it and it was like that song didn't exist. I wish we could rewind the tape, and make a better, happier mix tape. Stupid analogy, but just know you have thousands of people standing behind you. Stay strong, and love to your whole family!
