Obituary of Alan Fred Reuter

Alan Fred Reuter, 74 years, of Stratford NJ, passed away peacefully at home and surrounded by family on March 29, 2021. Beloved husband of Eileen (née Tully) Reuter. Son of the late Youngs and Iola (née Nickerson) Reuter. Loving father of Amy Kite (Rich), Alan Reuter (Joy) and Brian Reuter (Dianna). Brother of Janice Ganzemuller (Al). Brother-in-law of Drew and Janice Tully. Proud grandfather of Brad, Allison, Ben, Maggie and Erin. Loving uncle, cousin and friend.

Born in New York and raised in Pennsville, NJ, he was a long-time resident of Stratford, NJ. Alan became an Eagle Scout in 1964, and a member of the New Jersey Freemasons, joining the Penns Grove Masonic Lodge in 1968. 

Alan earned his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees at Glassboro State College, where he met Eileen. They enjoyed 52 years of marriage. 

Alan taught science at Eastern Regional High School for 40 years. There, he was a familiar face where he took tickets at athletic events. He was a member of the Stratford United Methodist Church for more than 40 years.

An avid Philadelphia sports fan, especially of the Phillies, he enjoyed gardening and family trips to Wildwood (“Watch the Tram Car Please!”). Grandpa and Ben shared a love of model trains. They often went to local train shows and added to their collection. All were entertained by his accordion playing at the legendary annual Tully Family Christmas party.

Alan will always be remembered for his love and devotion to his family and friends. 

A celebration of Alan's life will take place at a later date to be announced.
