Stefanie's Eulogy:

Our Uncle Joe was one cool guy.  My sister and I have so many good memories of him growing up. We will always remember his cowboy boots, his love of the Beatles, his natural musical talent, including playing a multitude of instruments, and how he never seemed to age. We loved that he let us play his drums every time we came over to the house. When the song “Bang on the Drums All Day” came out, we said it was written for him. We will also cherish the music tapes he made for us forever.

Of course, one of our favorite things about him was his sense of humor, especially his one-liners.  Once when my Nan and Pop were babysitting us, Uncle Joe came up from the basement in his blue fuzzy robe and said “I’m getting in the shower now, does anyone need to use the bathroom before I go in? Speak now or forever hold your pees” My sister and laughed hysterically and my Nan just shook her head and said, “I don’t know where he comes up with these things.”

As we got older, we loved spending the holidays with him at our house, or as he called it, “Sissy and Frank’s.”  He would tell us funny stories about his tight-nit group of friends.  If you were to say to us, “Yes, we know those guys: Jeff, Keith, Charlie, Ant and Frank” we may look at you bewildered. But mention “Ziggy, Schiffy, Chaz, Mole, Tony, and Hinks”, and now things become much clearer.  We thank all of his many friends for always looking after him.

Uncle Joe loved his family and friends so much and we are really going to miss him. Lastly, our uncle was a very spiritual person, who frequently read the bible, so I’d like to leave you with this quote from Luke 23:42-43

“And he said, “Jesus, remember me when you come into your kingdom” and Jesus said to him “Truly, I say to you, today you will be with me in paradise.”  Rest in Peace, Unc. We love you.
